Standing three-stories high amidst the trendy shops and rice fields of Canggu in Bali, Santanera is a story of crossed cultures and cuisines; a conversation of Latin American flavours, European influences and fine local ingredients.

Smoked, whipped, marinated, fermented or chargrilled delicacies from the land and sea are impressively reimagined. Organic, farm-to-plate produce takes centre stage, where every element has been primed and refined to create contemporary dishes to sample and share.

LATIN AMERICAN FLAVOURS

Expect colourful flavours on the menu and exceptional bottles in the wine cellar. The wine list expresses a variety of grapes and countries as well as something for the more adventurous customers, encouraging them to try something new. There is also a natural wine selection. Cocktails are a large part of the experience too, featuring classics and creative concoctions.

Climb the spiral staircase at Santanera to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink at our rooftop bar with signature cocktails, music, and sunset vibes. Reminiscent of a Barcelona rooftop bar but with Latin American flavours, the spacious and bright design is part open-air and part covered with huge plants and vines, fans to keep the air flowing, and walls covered with artwork.

Origin Of Santanera

The restaurant was born from the collaborative efforts of nine friends with a shared vision – including two skilled Colombian chefs Andres Beccera (previously Movida in Australia, Relae in Denmark, Els Casals in Spain) and German Rincon (Leo Cocina y Cava in Colombia, Tetto di Carolina in Australia).
The 160-seat restaurant is sleek, stylish and with contemporary artwork from artist Due Hatue, Santanera effortlessly blurs the lines between Old World and New. By night, this smart-casual Canggu restaurant is a cosy space to graze beneath indoor palms and oversized light shades. The ambience is warm and fun, with plenty of brown leather banquettes, herringbone wooden flooring, and mortadella-coloured marble tables and bar top.
